Tyre Blow-out

Turns out i was wrong, it does matter if you get the foam inside the tyre wet. While it all seemed OK on 2S, when i dropped the 3S in for a burst, I had a tyre blow-out. Spose that means all the tyres are the same, cant dry then inside so will have to try and disassemble them, then dry and re-glue them. I’ve heard the stock ones arent the best to do, so we’ll see.

UPDATE: So I ordered a new tyre with foam, and used the Baking method to remove the old tyre off the rim. Which entails putting it in the oven on 180c for 10-15 minutes. Its a bit smells, and need to be careful, as its obviously going to be hot working on it. Next time I need to be more careful about touching the steel tray, as it melted some rubber off the tyre.

RC Drifter TT01-D

I bought a Tamiya TT01-D Drifter kit, being a kit you have to assemble everything, cut every piece of plastic from the sheet and assemble all of it. The Missus sprayed the body for me, its a purple pearl with a charcoal base, not sure why it came out as a blue car with purple tinge, but looks great anyway. I’ve added an Aluminium Propeller shaft, locked (spool) rear diff. and ground the chassis to take a LiPo battery, plus a LiPo alarm on the way. I’m not happy with the Fatuba S3003 servo for steering, so i have a Traxxas 2070 on the way, hope it works better with the traxxas reciever.

Rock Crushers

Just fitted my new Rock Crushers to the E-Maxx, lifts it a fair bit, should be better in the long grass and for crawling, one down side, it doesnt fit into my box any more.

RC Truck FPV

Finished mounting the Camera for FPV on the new truck body, its not detachable, but i want to keep this body in reasonably good condition, so wont matter. Hard wired the Mic into the Video Transmitter, you can just see it under the tx.

Linix Conf 09

Went to see Andrew Bartlet speak about AD and Samba4, some interesting stuffwill have to check this out and do a test setup for Andrew. Spoke with him on the way back from the Professional Delegates Night, and got his card, he asked if i could do some real world testing in a similated environment.

Provision.ldap provides the following: phpLDAPadmin, openLDAP (multimaster), Group Policy Python for scripting. I’m mainly interested in Vampire mode where the Samba4 server is in ReadOnly mode. AD and Samba4

Next was ment to be a SQL seminar, but the speaker didnt show, so instead we had lightning talks. There was some interesting stuff about Drizzle (bzr branch lp:drizzle). A fast DB is TokyoCabinet which is extreamly light and fast. It should be also noted that the developers said to use SQLite for storing config data, rather than flat files, if you dont need users to edit the configs.
